Research

CRIC is breaking ground in the areas of regional innovation and competitiveness. Current research areas include:

  • Demand management in the water industry
  • Development of community capacity and relational capital
  • Clustering in a regional context
  • Regional SMEs: Are they different?
  • Impact of e-commerce on the competitiveness of regional enterprises and organisations
  • Wine and Regional Tourism: Strengthening Complementarity

The research is organised within a conceptual framework which includes:

  • The core processes in development; innovation, leadership, collaboration and connectivity.
  • Place and environment influencing enterprise and community strategies.
  • Outcomes in terms of global/local competitiveness and the development of knowledge and relational capital.

CRIC pursues its mission by undertaking research which focuses on:
