Resource & Environmental Management towards 2020 (REM2020)
Introduction
The network Resource & Environmental Management towards 2020 (REM 2020) was initiated in June 2001. REM 2020 targets young professionals working in natural resource and environmental management and includes farmers, extension officers, researchers, rural industry representatives and both State and Commonwealth Government representatives. These people see themselves as the future managers of our natural resources and regional communities.
REM 2020 aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban professionals working towards a profitable and sustainable agricultural sector as well as conserving natural and cultural heritage values. The network will provide young professionals with:
- Access to information (research, calendar of events, conferences etc)
- Events customised to the needs of members such as seminars, workshops and conferences;
- Networking forums;
- Training opportunities;
- Leadership opportunities;
- Opportunities to practice public speaking and facilitation;
- Assistance to participate in events/conferences and share the information with other members of the network;
- Links with other networks and associations, industry bodies and government agencies; and
- Access to database of members that include skills and work experiences.
